Project Overview
The Portal Dapodik project was developed for Indonesia's Ministry of Education to provide a centralized platform for managing and publishing educational data from over 300,000 schools nationwide. This public-facing portal serves as the official source of information for schools, students, teachers, and facilities across all educational levels in Indonesia.
Project Requirements
- Create a comprehensive public portal for educational data across Indonesia
- Implement data synchronization between schools and the ministry's central server
- Develop interactive visualizations and reports for public access
- Build a secure system that can handle millions of concurrent users
The Challenge
The main challenge was creating a system that could handle massive amounts of data from hundreds of thousands of schools while ensuring data accuracy, security, and accessibility. Additionally, we needed to implement efficient synchronization mechanisms between local school databases and the central ministry server, often across regions with limited internet connectivity.
The Approach & Solution
We developed a comprehensive web portal using PHP with a focus on performance and scalability. The system includes sophisticated data synchronization mechanisms with offline capabilities for schools with intermittent internet access, advanced data validation to ensure accuracy, and interactive visualizations for public consumption. We implemented a distributed architecture with load balancing to handle millions of concurrent users during peak periods such as student enrollment seasons.
